Varsity increases accommodation rates

Varsity increases accommodation rates

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has increased the rent of a bed space by N10,000. The increment which is currently at N10,000 per session, will take effect from next session, when the students will begin to pay N20,000.
The management explained that the increase was necessary for the benefit of the students, as they desire to make the hostels conducive and more comfortable for living.
In a related development, the management had also stated its desire to cultivate a campus life on the campus as most of the students live off campus. It promised that the unfinished hostel buildings will be finished soon and more hostels constructed.
A student who spoke to CAMPUSLIFE on the condition of anonymity said: "I don’t like the idea of the fee increase when you will still have to put up with like three roommates. I don’t quite understand the reason behind it".
For another student: "Provided there will be constant electricity and water supply, I’ll pay the new rate gladly".
